Dual VET allows us to see how students grow within our company.

1- Innovation Strategies defines itself as a digital services company that works for leading companies that require rapid implementation solutions. How do you achieve this?

Our mission is to solve the business problems of leading companies in multiple locations around the world by applying the latest technology. We have been achieving this for more than two decades because we are always at the forefront of the latest developments in our sector and, although we are partners of technological giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, Dynatrace, Oracle or Google, we are not technology vendors, but rather we apply the latest technology available to our clients' businesses in a personalised way and adjusting to their needs.


2- Your company is a benchmark in the digital transformation of companies in Mallorca. What is the key to your success after more than two decades of experience?

We are extremely proud, for example, of being a key partner in the digitalisation of the e-commerce of the Iberostar Group for more than 15 years now and of the work we have done with most of the large Mallorcan companies and, of course, of the projects developed worldwide. One of the keys to our success is the long-standing relationships we have established with all our partners and clients. We have had the opportunity to apply our technological know-how in sectors such as oil, finance, consumer goods and, in recent years, we have also executed large-scale projects in places such as the United States, Saudi Arabia and Latin America. But, undoubtedly, none of this would have been possible without the human team that we have managed to put together. They are the ones who move each of the projects we carry out and their way of relating to the clients' technical teams allows them to create solid synergies.

3- What profile of workers are you looking for in your company and the companies you work for? What sectors do these companies belong to? What profile is most in demand?

We are purely dedicated to the development and implementation of technology, so we are always looking for people who are passionate about it, professionals involved in Data Analytics, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Software development, in all the innovations that are appearing. We ask for people who are involved in the challenges we face with each of the projects we develop, who are aware of the impact that their daily work has on the digitisation of large organisations.


4- Specialists in new technologies are the most difficult to find in the labour market. Do you see dual vocational training as a way to solve this problem?


Dual vocational training has allowed us to find professionals specialising in technology with excellent basic training. From the moment a student enters our company to broaden their knowledge, our great responsibility begins, which is to complement them and complete their education based on our experience.

We integrate them with the rest of the team, we make them participants in the projects and, being in the front row, getting to know the day-to-day life of a company during this training period, allows these students to get closer to the business reality with other professionals who already have extensive experience and who, therefore, are their best mentors to continue to expand their knowledge and quickly resolve any doubts that may arise. In the same way, this type of training allows your students to get to grips with specific technologies and to experience first-hand the specifics of the industry.

5- Does your company have students who have benefited from this type of training and work experience? Please tell us the number of students and their speciality.

In our team we have seven people who come from the Higher Level Training Cycle in Web Development that is taught at the IES Borja Moll. The oldest of them has been working in our company for more than six years and his professional growth has been such that he is currently one of our best architects. This modality allows us to see with great pride how all those students who decide to complete their training with us grow. The great leap they make from their first day to a few years of experience is spectacular.

6- Those students who combine training and a work contract, what percentage stay on in the companies where they have been trained?

We have been fortunate that 100% of these students have stayed with us. We try to ensure that all our professionals are comfortable working at Innovation Strategies and, for this reason, we are committed to being a modern, flexible company, whose objective is to be able to announce, in the near future, that we are a Great Place to Work, that is to say: an excellent place to work, develop and live with a modern organisational culture, always focusing on our employees.

7- You say that your objective is to solve your clients' business problems. What do their companies ask you for, mainly in Mallorca?

The companies that contact us do so because they know that we are experts in the ideation and creation of digital products, also in Data engineering, Analytics and Artifical Intelligence and, finally, our specialisation in Cloud and Perfomace stands out, that is, in the scalability of all digital products and systems. In addition, as we are a partner of the main cloud providers in the market, it is common for us to help all these businesses to find the best solution for their case by applying hybrid, multi-cloud and on-prem cloud solutions.

8- One of the complaints from the business sector and students is that some vocational training courses do not meet the demands of the labour market. Do you share this view? Is there a lack of collaboration and communication between the public and private sectors?

Honestly, I don't think that the education they receive in vocational training is mismatched. Students receive a good, solid and practical basis. Afterwards, companies are responsible for completing this training by offering them the support, training and tools they need to develop their full potential and turn them into professionals with integrity in their sector.
